Here I'm showing you how to create a simple Cell using just copper wire, aluminium wire and salt water. The figure below shows a cell made by placing a copper wire and aluminium wire in salt water. This generates a voltage around 0.2V and current passing around 1.1mA.
By connecting these cells in series the voltage is increased to around 0.62V.
If you use copper strips and aluminium strips instead of wires then you will get 0.7V for single cell. Making such two/three cells and connecting in series and applying to a 0.25W red LED will glow. Below figure shows setup of the cells connected in series.
The voltage generated for this setup is shown below.
After adding lemon juice to salt water the conductivity is increased. This increases the total power generated. Below figure shows voltage after adding lemon juice to salt water.
